Ball mills are widely used in mining, metallurgy, cement and other industries, and are an important part of the grinding system. If there is an abnormal phenomenon in which the fineness of the finished material of the ball mill is significantly thicker and is difficult to control (the ball mill "roughs up"), it will increase the energy consumption of the ball mill and cause waste. At the same time, the large particle size will also affect the subsequent sorting, so in actual production, it is necessary to avoid the occurrence of roughness of the ball mill.
The “rough running” of the ball mill generally appears on the double-chamber open-circuit tube mill with a relatively small diameter. The main reason is that the grinding capacity of the coarse grinding chamber is too strong, and the grinding capacity of the fine grinding chamber is insufficient. The reasons why the grinding capacity of the coarse grinding chamber is significantly higher than that of the fine grinding chamber are:
1. The loading capacity of the grinding body in the coarse grinding chamber is too small, the diameter of the steel ball is too small, or the filling rate of the grinding body in the fine grinding chamber is much lower than that of the coarse grinding chamber. At this time, the loading capacity of the grinding body in the fine grinding chamber should be increased, the gradation of the grinding body should be adjusted, or the proportion of the large balls should be appropriately increased.
2. The feeding amount is too much, or the feeding amount in a short time increases sharply. In this case, during the operation, try to ensure that the feeding amount is compatible with the crushing capacity of the bin, and prevent the feeding amount from increasing suddenly.
3. The grate gap of the partition board is too large. At this time, electric welding can be used to weld the steel bar to the place where the gap is too large.
4. The compartment board is damaged or dropped. It will cause the grinding body to shift into the warehouse, the partition board should be replaced or installed, and the confused grinding body should be sorted.
5. The granularity of the grinding material is too large. The particle size of the mill should be reduced. Before the problem of material particle size is solved, the diameter of a steel ball in a warehouse should be appropriately increased, or the feeding amount should be temporarily reduced.
6. There is a "satisfaction" phenomenon in a warehouse. It will cause a significant reduction in the crushing capacity of a warehouse, and the problem of "saturation" should be eliminated and prevented.
When "rough running" occurs, the cause should be found out and measures should be taken to solve it. In addition, the operator should adjust the ore feed amount, grinding concentration and return amount of the grinder in time according to the nature of the ore and the feed size to ensure that the classification fineness meets the technological requirements and create good conditions for the sorting operation.
