Working principle of ball forming process:
The raw material balls are prepared by the ball forming disc. The movement process of the mixture in the ball forming disc is roughly divided into two stages: the formation period of the cue ball (ball core) and the growth compaction period.
Cue ball molding period: fly ash, clay, etc. are all highly hydrophilic substances, and the surface of the particles has the ability to absorb water. When the continuously added mixture rolls in the tray, the water droplets are continuously sprayed on the mixture When the particles encounter water droplets, they will quickly absorb and infiltrate, forming a very thin water film on the surface of the particles, and adsorb materials during rolling, forming a small ball core, which is the cue ball. The size of the cue ball is generally about 3mm, there is a thin water film on the surface.

Growth and compaction period: Due to continuous water addition, feeding and continuous rolling of the cue ball in the disc, the water film on the surface of the cue ball also continuously absorbs water, so that the cue ball gradually forms a material ball. At the same time, due to the mechanical action of rolling, the compactness of the material ball is gradually increased, coupled with the bonding effect of the material, the material ball has a certain mechanical strength, until the raw material ball that meets the requirements is formed.

The movement of the material in the ball plate is basically divided into four areas:
1) Powder and cue ball area: This area is at the position of feeding water and contains a large amount of powder and forms a large number of cue balls.

2) Small ball and powder area: The number of small balls in this area is roughly equal, and the small balls continuously absorb material and water, and gradually grow up.

3) Material ball area: In this area, there are mostly material balls and less powder. While the material balls are formed, the density and strength are gradually increased.

4) Ball exit area: This area is almost all qualified raw balls, which are continuously discharged as the disc rotates.

Characteristics of the ball forming process:
The ball-forming process is divided into ball-forming of wet material, ball-forming of semi-dry material and ball-forming of dry material. It is distinguished according to the different moisture content of the mixture. When the wet material is balled, the powder has a moisture content of 30%-35%, when the semi-dry material is balled, the powder has a water content of 15%-25%, and when the dry material is balled, and the powder has a moisture content of less than 5%. Do not add water or only a small amount of water when the wet material is formed into a ball, and add more water when the dry material is formed into a ball.
