The Role of the Cooler
The high-temperature materials produced by the rotary kiln often need to be cooled to a certain temperature by a cooler before they can be transported, stored and processed further. According to needs, the cooler can recover a large amount of heat carried by high-temperature materials with air, so that the combustion-supporting air entering the kiln can be preheated to a higher temperature to strengthen calcination and reduce heat consumption.
The Composition of the Cooler
Like the rotary kiln, the single-cylinder cooler also has a cylinder body, brick lining, rolling ring (tyre), supporting wheel device and ring gear type transmission device. The head and tail are equipped with a feeding device and a discharge cover as required. There are necessary sealing devices everywhere. The difference is that the main heat exchange device is a lifting plate. The lifting plate makes the material curtain evenly distributed in the cross section of the cylinder to facilitate heat exchange with the passing airflow.
Cooler Heat Exchange Device
The temperature of the material discharged from the rotary kiln can reach about 1000℃, with a lot of heat. In order to reduce heat consumption and maximize heat recovery from high-temperature materials, the thermal efficiency of the cooler must be improved so that the materials can be cooled to meet the requirements of the next process, and the combustion air flowing through the cooler must be heated. Therefore, the heat exchange device is the main component of the cooling machine. The lifting plate is suitable for the cooling of bulk materials. It makes the materials form a material curtain on the section of the cylinder and is cooled by air. Common forms are arc-shaped and obtuse-angled. The increase in the number along the circumference is beneficial to make the material curtain continuous, and can reduce the slippage of the material on the cylinder and reduce the wear on the cylinder.
