As one of the important beneficiation equipment, the rod mill relies on the pressure and grinding force of the steel bar to grind the ore. It has the advantages of mature production technology and simple and scientific process. The liner and steel rod of the rod mill are the main components, and their quality affects the production capacity and service life of the rod mill. The selection of the liner and steel rod of the rod mill for beneficiation is introduced below.
1. Liner material-light weight and corrosion resistance
In the grinding of minerals, the liner of rod mills is constantly subject to the abrasion and impact of ores and steel rods, so wear resistance is also necessary. Generally, the materials of the liner of the rod mill include alloy steel, high manganese steel, and wear-resistant rubber. Comparison of these materials will find that high manganese steel and alloy steel have good wear resistance, but their disadvantage is weight large, which increases the load on the rod mill, and it is not convenient for the manufacturer or the user to install it; the wear-resistant rubber liner has the advantages of light weight, low noise, low energy consumption, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance, but it is resistant. The effect of high temperature is not very good, but in recent years, some large manufacturers have solved this problem, so the wear-resistant rubber liner has been more and more widely recognized and praised.
2. Steel rod material-high hardness and wear resistance
The material of the rod mill steel rods used by the major mining machine manufacturers in my country is mainly round steel. If it is not subjected to any treatment, the phenomenon of disordered rods and broken rods will occur. Therefore, in order to avoid this phenomenon, it is very important to choose a steel rod material with high hardness, wear resistance, and the phenomenon of broken rods and disordered rods is not easy to occur. Practice shows that the strict heat treatment process of round steel can improve the hardness and wear resistance of the steel bar of the rod mill, ensure the operation rate of the rod mill, extend the service life of the equipment, and provide the possibility for users to increase production. Therefore, for the steel rod material of the ore dressing rod mill, it is wise to choose heat-treated round steel.
3. Steel rod size
The diameter of the steel rod should be selected appropriately, which can not only crush large pieces of material, but also have sufficient surface area. A steel rod with a small diameter has a large surface area and wears less on the lining plate, but a small-diameter steel rod per unit weight sells for a higher price, and has fast wear and short life. During operation, steel rods smaller than the discarded diameter have to be taken out regularly. The diameter of commonly used steel rod is 50~100mm.
The length of the steel rod is the effective barrel length (that is, the net length of the barrel length minus the thickness of the end cover liner) minus 150 mm, or minus 300-400 mm from the nominal barrel length.
