Lubrication of Rotary Kiln Components

In order to make the rotary kiln run stably for a long time, it is very important to maintain good lubrication conditions for each moving part. The lubrication of rotary kiln has the following characteristics:
(1) Low speed and heavy load, such as the speed of the supporting roller is generally 5-15r/min, and the pressure of the supporting roller bearing is tens of tons to hundreds of tons;
(2) The ambient temperature is high, the surface temperature of the rotary kiln shell is often above 200 ℃, and a lot of heat is radiated to the surroundings;
(3) There is a lot of dust. The sealing points of the rotary kiln and the kiln dust conveying equipment are all scattered with dust around; the kiln is installed obliquely, making the low-end bearings easy to leak oil. These characteristics place higher demands on the lubrication system.
General principles for selecting lubricating oil:
(1) When low speed, heavy load, high temperature and withstand impact load, lubricating oil with high viscosity should be selected.
(2) At high speed, light load and low temperature, lubricating oil with low viscosity should be selected.
(3) High pressure lubricating oil is used for the parts with high pressure
(4) When the mechanical parts are greatly affected by temperature, in addition to viscosity, the flash point and freezing point of the lubricating oil should also be considered.
Grease should be selected under the following conditions:
(1) Avoid dust entering the components in the bearing;
(2) No need to check frequently;
(3) Some low-speed, heavy-load and high-temperature parts should use calcium-based grease in a humid environment, and sodium-based grease must be used under high temperature conditions.
